The accumulation of baby stuff that is. I made my first baby related purchase this weekend. Katie and I went to check out The Rock & Shop Market in Durham and there I found some adorable onesies by Hawks & Doves. The thing I enjoy about events like The Rock & Shop Market is it allows you to purchase unique items while supporting local artists and small businesses (and it was conveniently held on Small Business Saturday). Following that line of thought, I bought the below onesies to show our love of Durham. Katie also pointed out that we could take a really cute picture with the baby in front of some iconic Durham brick wall to further the theme.
In addition to the onesies, we also received a very generous gift from my friend and coworker Marie. A carseat, two bases, and the stroller that it snaps into! As Marie and Joe’s youngest child is now a little over a year old they had no need of the items and offered them to us. They look practically new and since we know and trust them, had no qualms about accepting these items. (Not that it really matters but something I like, is that is gender neutral as they didn’t find out the gender of their kids until birth either.) Furthermore, Marie also lent me 3 big bags of maternity clothes and another bag filled with things like burp cloths and receiving blankets and is the person that introduced us to the Women’s Birth and Wellness Center (and thus is a big source of info and advice) so obviously a big THANKS goes out to her!
